What is the art of monstering?
The art of Monstering is a way of living that incorporates more fun into the mundane tasks of everyday life. It involves looking at the word from a new perspective that sees life more as playground to explore and enjoy rather than tasks and chores that need to be completed.
How can I make chores and housework more fun?
Think of life as if you’re a child looking for ways to make life a game. Remember how you used to play pretend and make-believe? Apply those same ideas to your adult life. We often lose our childhood wonder when we grow up, but we can get it back!
If you need help with coming up with ideas to make chores and housework more fun, you can use the “Art of Monstering” worksheets to help you gamify your daily tasks, create new habits, and get more done while having more fun!
We also create short videos on social media and share blog posts with ideas for how to make your responsibilities more fun! We’d like to hear your ideas too, and learn what is working for you!
How do I avoid spending my whole life cleaning?
I totally get it. Sometimes it feels like we spend all of our free time cleaning, doing chores, or handling other responsibilities and housework. It can be overwhelming to figure out how to avoid spending your whole life cleaning. It’s a big part of your life, so what if you stopped fighting it, and leaned into it instead? What if you turned the chores part of your life into the playful part of your life too. Sometimes things get better if we find a way to reframe them. You have the power to make the more mundane parts of your daily responsibilities a game.
You can also take more pride in your housework accomplishments, because you’re doing great things! We don’t give ourselves enough credit for the small things. You may even find this helps you accomplish more quicker, because you’re more motivated than discouraged by chores. You may even find yourself wanting do more then just get by!
Also, if you have potential helpers in your life, you could also get them more involved in the process through gamifying cleaning and chores. It’s always nice to have help! It can also be nice to have a motivation buddy, if you don’t have helpers in your household. We can be your accountability buddies, or you can recruit friends to play these games with you! You can also explore ideas on our blog or social media pages, if you need help getting started. We have some free worksheets too!
